u-day

Wednesday, March 31st, 2004

updates day! launch bar was updated today. and i just downloaded and installed the updates for Macromedia MX 2004. and yes, it’s much faster. as for launch bar, it’s got alot of the goodies i’m liking about quicksilver, but it will take some more time to play with to give a real analysis.
and yes, the site is getting some redesigns. graphe artihmos’ new archive system wasn’t quite cutting it, and i never finished the old one due to how large and not so good it became. great idea, bad implamenting though. so now i’m stuck between making a filemaker database, or going ahead with tinderbox…first up is just staying current.
speaking of filemaker, the newest version, 7, is really awesome. all new database core along with some spiffy new gui stuff. all in all a good buy.
so between SubEthaEdit, Tinderbox, and FileMaker this site should be good to go eventually. might even look nice now that MX 2k4 is up to more speed and can almost keep up with me.
have fun, and God bless!

linkage

are you a creative person that want their work spread around the world, but want something resembling a copyright on it? check out the creative commons. it’s like open-source for writing, music, art, and thought. you can check them out at their homepage here: http://creativecommons.org/

so, i used launchbar for like ever. then butler for a little while. and then the two of them together. that was all before the latest test version of quicksilver. it’s small, quick, and feature packed! and it also scans my hard drive every 10 minutes, in the background. i might just keep butler, because it takes like no cpu, and has that nifty web search feature that i always forget to use. but when i do use it, or its controlling itunes feature, they’re both wonderful features! i would recommend checking out all three applications though. they’re all wonderful. quicksilver just has a bevel view, and it’s just plain cool looking.

d-day

Tuesday, March 30th, 2004

design day, dead day, dumb day. all of those describe today. but i couldn’t figure out a synonym for crap or hell that sounded good and began with a d. oh well, such be life. but i am doing a slight site redesign. something with some more of a preview view. graphe arithmos is going to get the biggest overhaul in some ways. tks and tpg might even get some content one day.
as for the personal side of things (this is a blog afterall) i’m almost finished moving. ikea closes too early, but they do have some nice furniture i have to admit. need a small desk for my computer. but i might just wait till i get my G5 to do that at….get a couch first for me room. any suggestions?
at any rate, have fun, and God bless!

sea scaping

Sunday, March 28th, 2004

Time To Add sections on my two favorite shows of all time, SeaQuest DSV, and Farscape! and now that i’ve moved, it might just happen soonish! and in case anyone is wondering a 500lb filing cabinet is heavy. very, very heavy. but we got the washer, dryer, refrigerators, filing cabinets, beds, desks, and other various stuff out in one day. with only like three people doing it at a time! pretty good i think. but my wrists are killing me today, and my hands are just one big callus i think. but hey, such is life, and eventually i might even have a functional room. my little apartment within a house.
but i think it’s time for some new sections. they will appear on the left hand side of the site, but not operational for some time. book reviews, application reviews, political reviews, rants, raves…or just add them on to other sections might just do it as well. sub sections i guess would be more right. at this point, it will happen, someday.
have fun everyone, and i’ll start putting some fun stuff up soonish. again, comments and pointers should be e-mailed here. that way i know what i’m doing wrong.

and the beat goes on

so between the 5 books i’m reading i’ve got even more hecticness going on. but it’s all under control thanks to my moleskin notebook. i pretty much use it like a super diary/calendar/note keeping devices. and it has a square grid, so it’s perfect wormhole paper…that’s right, it’s all about the wormhole paper! on the topic of wormholes, they’re fun stuff they are. but in all seriousness, have fun and God bless!

decades past

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004

so, i just found out about the show “that 70’s show” and want to know why no one told me about it earlier?! well, time to get back to the daily show. because i like right, left, and neutral humor. so i read and watch alot. it takes awhile to find some good left writing, good neutral humor, and funny right wing shows some days. either that, or i’m just being weird and trying to get a rise out of everyone.
but hey, apparently penguins are gay, cause it happens in nature…only not. people need help. then again, i need time to finish my essays, another thesis revision, and time to read my books. right now i drive, work, go to work, drive, go home. it’s oh so much fun.
but hey, for those of you that want to come help this weekend, e-mail me. so, have fun. and God bless.

so, i was playing around with garage band last night. decided to make a yes like song that was totally random. so i did. i haven’t finished it, and i really need to clean up alot of the transition. but it is rather funny if you want to take a listen at it here. you’ll most likely have to download the link to disc. so hey, have fun, and God bless!

like a pudding

Friday, March 19th, 2004

see, i’m finally somewhat consistent. i mean, a couple of days in a row even. oi veh. between school, work, family, cars, and life drama, it’s been hectic lately. but such is life, no?
so, i was in the process of moving my old blog over, and realized that some of the stuff i never got to rant and rave on completely.
i also never really got onto some of the cool technology i’ve been playing with. like tinderbox, LaTeX, iPod’s, computers, my car, all that stuff. but, it’s time to get back to work, i’m opening this morning. so, if you’ve ever in the area of mission viejo, california come on into the shopps and the apple store next to nordstom and say hi, whenever you have time. have fun everybody, and God Bless!

such is life

Monday, March 15th, 2004

somehow i got suckered into packing, watching a baby, and playing with puppies today. the only objection is that i can’t work on my site half as much as i wanted to. so, grrrrr. but such is life. i’m doing my best to post here daily in one category or another. haven’t been doing that too well to be honest. but hey, every new day brings new opportunity.
as a side note to all of this, i’m thinking about actually making this site a little graphic oriented again. i’ve got some graphic designers i know to give me tips along the way, and they might just have to get some free advertising. darn. but, i’m going to do my best to design this whole site myself. with the help of tinderbox, fireworks, subethaedit, and my trusty apple computer i should be good to go! have fun, and God bless!

snowball’s chance

Sunday, March 14th, 2004

so, i think all i have to do is just start working on stuff. cause once i do, i’m like a snowball going down the hill, just picking up momentum. which means i haven’t done jack didilly this week till right now on sunday, cause i have today and tomorrow off! meaning i’ll be packing the whole time, and getting very little time to write here. grrrr. the main thing is i want to finalize some of my satire pieces for the other sections. time is infinite, relative. einstein was right afterall! so, have a good day everybody, and week, and i’ll do my best to get everything updated! have fun and God bless.
as a side note, go to this page, it’s funny and great.
