all i have to say about the new spider-man movie is…wow! to be honest, i loved the first one, thought it was the best comic book to screen translation done. and then this movie came out. it might only be 104 minutes, but there’s alot they pack in there. of cource it assumes that you’ve seen the first one, which if you haven’t, why the frell not?! but it seriously was a great movie. saw the 12:15 showing, so i’m a little out of it. and as many of you know, i’m something of a spider-man fanatic.
the casting was marvelous of cource. j.j. jameson is still one of th best casted charachters ever. the guy is just perfect! looks like him, acts like him, even has alot of the same expressions as him! the laughter, the suddeen change of moods, the wackyness, it’s all there. his assistant, hoffman, is great too. the actor that plays him, ted raimi, is one of my favorite actors as it is, so i might be a little biased. something about him being seaquest and being the geeky one…
as for the villian, i think they did a marvelous job with Doc Ock. the green goblin in the first film was great, but molina did just as good of a job with the good doctor. they really showed the multiple side of doc ock and they really got to show what peter parker was made of. the fight scenes between the two were jaw dropping as it were, then add in an above ground subway and it’s even better and more spectacular. and the falling from the buildings while still fighting right before that was fun too.
and then there’s mary jane watson. i waited for so long to hear her say “go get em tiger” that i can’t remember not waiting for it. but boy did it make me feel good to hear that. speaking of good sounds, everyone in the theater i was in boo-ed catwoman, just thought i’d throw that in there.
the only charachter i didn’t really see that i wanted to was eddie brock. spidey sooo needs to get the black suit for the next movie. so needs to. john jameson was introduced, so it’s not too far off to open the next one with his shuttle crashing on the bridge. they’ve set up a couple of other villians too, but i’ll let you find them out on your own.
so, my review of the movie. it’s a 6 out of 5 people. if you haven’t seen it yet….well, i’m just not sure what you’re waiting for at all! have fun, and God bless!
