Dear TKS,
I woke up this morning, early, to go and vote in this election. Its a right given in this country and I like to flex it when I can. As such, I got ready, went to go outside and lo and behold, its raining. Is it a good or bad omen to have rain on election day? Normally when I leave in the morning a spot of sunshine follows me around all day every day, but not today. For today my inverted Eeyore was turned around and I got to experience the joy of walking and driving in the rain. Yes as I’m elated about waiting outside in the rain for an hour to vote, I find out that the voting booths have been moved deeper inside so we can all wait in the foyer of city hall. Alas, my adventure was not be.
Although, I quickly found out another adventure was planned for me: for the first time I had to wait in a line to vote. Never in any other election did I have to wait in a line. I got to my polling place around 6:50am, the poling place didn’t open up until about 7:05am. At that point the line was about 120 to 150 people long, with that in mind it actually went quite quickly only taking about an hour to get the front of the line and cast my votes.
No matter the outcome, I’m glad I got to vote and I’m glad so many people came out to vote. How was your day TKS?
Have fun!
